A British Sociological Association (BSA) Early Career Forum Event
Date: June 20, 2018
Venue: A1, Law and Social Sciences, University of Nottingham, Nottingham NG7 2RD, UK
Key questions framed will include: ‘how do British Muslims apply meaning to their everyday lived experiences?’, and ‘how do their experiences shape their identities?’ These questions pose a starting point for important academic discussions about how to understand the fluidity, diversity and interrelatedness of British Muslim identities.
A specific focus will be placed on how academic research can be disseminated in a way that makes it more accessible to the wider public. Academic theory on British Muslims will therefore be combined with wider discussions relating to socio-political issues and policy-impact.
