10 Must Watch Documentaries on Muslim Civilization in Europe

A list of useful and informative documentaries that present excellent overviews of contributions to science and technology from Muslim Civilization is provided. They serve as a window into a golden age with so much more to discover. We remember the words of HRH The Prince of Wales, in his lecture at Oxford University some 25 years ago:

1. What the Ancients Did for Us - The Islamic World

2. An Islamic History of Europe
With TV Presenter Rageh Omaar

The video documentary 'An Islamic History of Europe' produced by the BBC in 2005 and presented by Rageh Omaar (TV presenter who also covered the American invasion of Iraq), reveals the surprising hidden story of the influence of Muslim civilization on Europe.

In this 90-minute documentary, Rageh Omaar, uncovers the hidden story of Europe's Islamic past and looks back to a Golden Age when European civilization was enriched by Islamic learning. Rageh travels across medieval Muslim Europe to reveal the vibrant civilization that was brought to the West.

3. When The Moors Ruled In Europe

As part of Channel 4 'Hidden Civilization' season, 'When the Moors Ruled in Europe' explores Islam's rich and significant contribution to western art and culture.
