Islamophobia is one form of discrimination in Canada that contributes to Muslim women’s and girls’ experiences of safety in public and online spaces. However, there is very little education available on how to respond and effectively counter online hate and extremism.

Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW)’s Digital Anti-Racism Education (D.A.R.E.) Project, funded by the Government of Canada, is a unique and significant initiative to respond to hate online. CCMW’s national Digital Anti-Racism Education (D.A.R.E.) Project, aims at raising awareness about online hate and Islamophobia by empowering racialized women, girls and allies with resources and tools to counter hate online to #DeleteRacism.

Are you a racialized Canadian Muslim woman/girl trans, or non-binary person who has experienced hate, racism, Islamophobia in your school, workplace or any other walk of life? As part of CCMW’s (D.A.R.E.2) Project, we invite you to share your lived experience of hate/racism/Islamophobia that has forever impacted you. Your story could empower others and provide them with courage and resolve to overcome the trauma. Please submit your story in less than 1,000 words by email to: firdaus.ali@ccmw.com by February 26, 2021.
