Muslim Congress Strongly Demands the Indonesian Authorities to Stop its Hypocritical Attitude Toward Shia Muslims

Muslim Congress strongly demands the Indonesian authorities to stop its hypocritical attitude toward Shia Muslims.

According to Shafaqna, the Muslim Congress in the statement said:

Dear brothers and sisters, Assalamu alaikum

Today, Thursday, May 1, 2014 marks the first day of the sacred month of Rajab al-Murajjab al-Haraam.

The followers of Ahl ul-Bayt (as) stake their tradition and its roots in the life Holy Prophet Muhammad (s) and Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as). This community has grown across the centuries and continents to form a major part of the body of Islam; especially in the Middle East where they equal the number of other Muslims today. Shia Muslims form majorities in Iran, Iraq, Bahrain and a significant presence in the other countries around the Persian Gulf region.

After the great Islamic revolution in Iran, the despotic Saudi cult's petro-dollars were poured into the pockets of their takfiri agents around the world to divide and rule and to prevent the spread of freedom and justice into the sheikhdoms of the Persian gulf region. Today some oppressive Arab regimes of the region have waged a war against the Shia people of Iraq, Syria, Pakistan and Lebanon. Despite the enormous investment in terms of men and money to stop the message of Ahl ul-Bayt (as) in the region, we are witnessing the defeat of Salafi/Takfiri armies of ignorance across the region. We are also watching the free and fair elections being held in Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon these days.

The history of Shia genocide goes way back in history. The most recent belligerent and threatening message to the Shia Muslims came from the Anti-Shia conference held in Jakarta, Indonesia. This shameful conference was organized by the Anti-Shia Alliance and attended by a number of Indonesian government officials. Their message was to wage a Jihad against the 'heretical' Shia Muslims in Indonesia and eliminate them. There were some masked men wearing shirts saying 'Heresy Hunters' in attendance. They pledged to follow the example of the Malaysian government that has been shamelessly and lawlessly engaged in a brutal suppression of the Shia Muslims and banning them while claiming to be a "free democracy". Indonesia has around one million Shia Muslims.

Salafis, who have been funded and instructed by their Saudi Takfiri/Wahhabi leaders (puppets), are a recent phenomenon in Islamic world. Shias have had many enemies in history who were all either oppressive rulers or their official 'scholars of hate'.

The Indonesian government, which has been allowing anti-Shia hatred to grow, shall bear the responsibility for any damage or loss of life inflicted upon the Shia. The attendance of its government officials at the anti-Shia event in Jakarta implicates them in this mission of hate. Threatening a group of people with death or destruction for having a certain faith is a violation of the sharee'ah of Rasoolullah (saawa).

According to the Holy Quran, the religious scripture of Islam, Muslims are prohibited from using any method of compulsion to influence the religious practices and beliefs (Ch 2: 256).

The Qur'an goes even further in protecting the rights of the followers of other faiths by obligating Muslims to protect all "cloisters and churches and synagogues and mosques in which God's name is remembered" (Ch 22: 40).

In relation to different ethnic, cultural, and religious groups the Qur'an tells Muslims "for every one of you did We appoint a law and a way, and if Allah had pleased He would have made you (all) a single people, but that He might try you in what He gave you, therefore strive with one another to hasten to virtuous deeds" (Ch 5: 48).The Qur'an advocates equality between all and says that only good deeds may raise the status of one human over another (Ch 46: 99).

Its also a violation of the UN charter of Human Rights per Article 18:

Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.

Muslim Congress strongly demands the Indonesian authorities to stop its hypocritical attitude toward Shia Muslims, and provide safety and equal opportunity to its Shia citizens under the law of reason, conscience, Islam and Human Rights .
