At the opening of the V Moscow International Halal Exhibition Moscow Halal Expo 2014 an official signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Council of Muftis of Russia and the Islamic Religious Council of Poland was held.
The chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Russian Muslims Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdinov and Poland Mufti Tomasz Mickiewicz signed the document.
According to this agreement, the parties recognize the importance of the religion and the role of the historical heritage of Islam in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Poland; the need to strengthen inter-religious and inter-ethnic peace and the importance of consolidating the Muslim community of the two countries in the fight against political and religious terrorism, extremism and other radical manifestations as well as the efficient use of historical traditions and spiritual values of Islam in the spiritual education of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Poland; to promote mutual cooperation for the realization of spiritual and educational, cultural, educational and economic programs that enhance the moral and cultural level of citizen.
This document was signed for the first time in the history of the two countries laying the foundation of fraternal ties. The memorandum is the first step to economic, educational, cultural and halal projects development.
